BIBCOU301: Biblical Foundations of Christian Counseling

This 12-week undergraduate course introduces students to the theological and biblical principles that shape Christian counseling. Using Gary Collins’ ‘The Biblical Basis of Christian Counseling for People Helpers’ as the primary text, students will explore how core doctrines of the Christian faith provide a foundation for counseling practices. Special attention will be given to worldview, the nature of humanity, sin, Christ’s redemptive work, forgiveness, the Holy Spirit, the role of the Church, and the integration of spirituality in counseling. Students will learn to apply these principles to real-world counseling scenarios with biblical fidelity and practical effectiveness.
