Course Description

This course provides an introduction to the principles and practice of Biblical (Nouthetic) Counseling as developed by Dr. Jay E. Adams in Competent to Counsel. Students will examine the failures of secular psychological models, explore the biblical foundation of counseling, and develop skills for confronting sin, guiding repentance, and facilitating change through the Word of God and the work of the Holy Spirit. Emphasis is placed on personal responsibility, confession, and the sufficiency of Scripture for addressing life’s problems.
